In the midst of a bright winter's morning a young woman stood by her bedroom window, looking at the snowy landscape as if the sight was foreign to her. The wind had a particular bite to it that morning. So chilly was the air that it seeped through her nightdress and diffused into her skin, causing her breathing to deepen from the sudden shock to her body. She shivered a little and ran her hands along her arms in an attempt to warm herself up, but alas it was to no avail. Still though, the morning was particularly spectacular to behold, and she did not wish to go back to bed just yet. The highlands were beautiful this time of year. The sky was so blue and the land was awash in beautiful whites, even a painter would have been hard pressed to improve upon the view.

"Yoo're wakin' lassie?" Came a voice from behind her, slightly heavy with sleep.

"Hmm..." She breathed in acknowledgement, flashing her warm smile towards the man lying in the bed behind her. "It's rather cold..."

A deep, heavily masculine chuckle erupted from him, and slowly he rose, taking the covers around his waist to cover his naked body and knotting them into place, unfazed by the brisk winter air. She couldn't deny that even in the morning he looked undoubtedly handsome. His hair was in disarray from sleep and as her eyes travelled over the scratches on his bare back, her smile grew.  Well, sleep wasn't the only thing that had mussed his auburn locks...

She turned her attention back to the view. But he was having none of that, quickly he moved towards her. He wore a look of self satisfaction on his face when she was pulled by him into his chest, his nose just catching her neck as he moved his arms to engulf her in his embrace. He nuzzled against her, pressing his lips to her neck.

"Come back tae bed love..." He crooned, kissing her again to tempt her.

"But it's such a beautiful morning..." She sighed, reluctant to move. She could feel him huff like scolded schoolboy into the nape of her neck, but that quickly changed into a smirk. An idea; he moved swiftly back over towards the bed, causing her attention to shift from the window once again. What she found was him, leaning spread across the bed, propped up on one elbow, posing like a Greek god.

"-Snowy mornings ur very common thes time ay year, but hoo common is 'at ye gie tae see me loch thes?"

He raised his arm up, narcissistically hinting to himself - and he said it so vainly that she couldn't help but giggle at the fact that he was still wearing that bed sheet as a skirt.

"What, wearing a makeshift skirt?" She asked with a hearty laugh.

"Ay, whit dae ye expect? It's perishin' in 'ere..."  Looking down at the bed cloth, he replied matter-of-factly, "Besides, it's nae a skirt if yoo're nae wearin' underwear underneath." He gave her a cheeky wink, "It be a kilt..."

Not completely swayed, she sauntered over to him, and with a smirk of her own proceeded to playfully start tugging at the knot in the cloth. "No... It definitely looks more like a skirt." She remarked, tugging the fabric free, offering her the most tantalising view.

Feeling the sheet begin to loosen, he desperately grabbed at the material. "Oi, stop it ye mad woman!" He cried, "Dae ye want them tae drap off in thes cold? Ye hear me lassie?! Las-ah!"

Suddenly, he found himself at a loss of balance, tumbling forward with the bed sheet onto the bed. Of course, it was her that had done it. She had pulled him down with her, one arm around his neck, the other wrapped up around his head, her fingers jerking at his hair.

"Yoo're gonnae gie it now ye wee devil!" He warned, a dangerous gleam coming to his forest green eyes.

And she was going to get it, that was, until he caught sight of her laughing. He paused for a moment, intently studying her face. In that moment, lying flush on top of him in her [f/c] nightgown, she looked so beautiful, so perfect. The way her [e/c] eyes shone with mischief, and her smile, as warm and as loving as the day they had met. He pinned back a stray lock of her [h/c] that had fallen in her eyes and with completely sincerity said, "Ye  look bonnie thes morn, e'en oan a cold day loch thes..."

She stared back at him, a dark blush spreading across her cheeks. Soundlessly, she moved slightly under him, bringing a hand to his cheek.

"Allistor... Let's go back to bed..."" She said softly, pressing her lips to his in a sweet kiss.

He smiled into the kiss, pulling the bed sheet off of him, "Fur ye mo muirnín* _______, och aye."

~end.
Edit: Went a little OTT with the accent! I've changed what Allistor is saying to make it a little more reader-friendly.

A little spur of the moment, rehash I did when I found some old stories from a year ago. This time, featuring the lovely Scotland- because I have a lot of love for the Kirklands.

Also, saw this on tumblr, made me giggle: 'You are a soggy, wet, miserable, damp country. WHY U SO SEXY??????'

As always, comments, critique and ideas are always welcome. ★
